My projects from my A level graphic communication course demonstrate my artistic ability and how I work with a brief. They also display my ability to turn a concept into a well rounded project which is important in every creative field.
The moodboard I created for this project, to give any outsider an idea of what it is I am creating.Brainstorming exactly what direction I wanted to take this project and flesh out my ideas.Testing out typography and potential titles for my project – important, as the font must reflect the image I created.Part of my creative process, experimenting with visual styles and deciding what is necessary for this project.Further experimentation, this time in the natural life direction to convey an indie vibe.Further experimentation with lunar imagery to contrast the bright and natural themes. Developing my themes into products, in the form of the same album but with a day edition and a night edition.Developing a poster to go with the day edition album cover to create a cohesive identity.
My petrichor project was a portfolio builder in my A level course, and I think it demonstrates well my willingness to experiment with style and colour. This was a project I enjoyed and I think shows off my skillset wonderfully.
This is my brainstorm/moodboard I created at the beginning of my exam project, the moodboard demonstrates the visual identity I wanted to create and the brainstorm demonstrates the thought and ideas put into the project itself.Another demonstration of my typography – this time with digital variety included also. This is some of my traditional process, working from reference images and trying different levels of detail and shading. This is how I translated work from traditional to digital and highlights my development. This was idea development for the first idea I had for an Alice in Wonderland vintage style movie poster, playing around with murder mystery themes. The theme didn’t feel well enough conveyed in the previous design, so this is one of the other designs I developed (which I ended up being very happy with!)
This was my exam project that helped me learn how to work under pressure, prioritising key elements whilst giving myself enough leeway to create a visual identity. I also consider it a key example of my ability to work with a brief.
